About HERO
HERO – Holistic Energy Retrofit Empowerment for the development of One-Stop Shops – is an EU co-funded programme implemented by REIL, a SEAI-registered One Stop Shop. HERO opens the OSS delivery model to local retrofit contractors, closing Ireland’s deep-retrofit capacity gap by giving contractors a structured route into the grant market.
OUR GOALS
HERO Mission
HERO aims to triple Ireland’s annual deep retrofit rate, from 1,336 to 4,500 homes per year within five years.
To achieve this, HERO will deliver:
Scalable OSS model
Delivered by REIL as a SEAI-registered One Stop Shop, in partnership with local retrofit contractors.
Network Expansion
Grow the network of retrofit contractors from 20 to 80, boosting nationwide capacity.
Replicable model
A template for European Member States, including Romania, Moldova and Hungary.
HERO Pilot and Soft Launch
The HERO journey begins with a pilot and soft launch phase, designed to test, refine, and prepare the OSS model for national rollout.
